Walpole police are worried a state ballot question to legalize medical marijuana could undo the town’s work to fight youth drug and alcohol use.

Police Chief Richard Stillman, who is also part of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, is against the idea of providing doctor-sanctioned marijuana but fears voters will pass the measure in November.

“The Mass. Chiefs will try to fight it, but we have no money to advertise. We’ll do what we can, but I’m quite confident people will be fooled again,” he said. “There is no such thing as medical marijuana. It’s marijuana used to get high, and that’s all there is too it.”
