The Drug Policy Forum of Massachusetts, in partnership with MASS CANN/NORML is seeking volunteers to help qualify Public Policy Questions (PPQs) for this year’s election.  Public Policy Questions (PPQs) are non binding initiatives that allow voters to tell their elected officials how they feel about certain issues.  The PPQ’s that we are seeking to qualify will read: “Shall the state senator from this district be instructed to vote in favor of legislation that would allow the state to regulate and tax marijuana inthe same manner as alcohol?”

We need your help to put this question on the ballot.  All it takes is signatures from registered voters to qualify a PPQ and we need your help to get those signatures.  We are seeking to qualify this PPQ in the senate districts covering Somerville and Cambridge, and that is where we will be petitioning.

Each signature gives 80 people the chance to say that they support the legalization of marijuana in an official vote.  Can you imagine giving 800+ people a chance to make that statement for every hour you volunteer?  That is what you will be doing when you volunteer with us.  This is a powerful opportunity to make real progress towards cannabis legalization.  If you have any time to volunteer over the next two months, please email me at alex@taxcannabis.org or call me at 413-658-7257 and I will bring you on board.  Together we will make a difference.
