All Commercial Trucks And Or Trailers With Grease Laden Equipment

  • ie: Fryolators, Broilers and/or Griddles etc. inorder to Comply with 527 CMR 10.03 (8) need to have Permanently Installed/Engineered Fire Suppression System/Incorporated with Hood Exhaust System. Portable Fire Extinguisher, compatible with above system (minimum 40:BC)
  • All LPG Components, ie: Fixtures, Fittings, Regulators, Hoses and/or Piping to be in accordance with 527 CMR 6, AGA and/or Industry Standards, NFP A 58

All portable cooking equipment needs to be:

  • Approved cylinder with OPD (Overfill Prevention Device)
  • Cylinder properly secured ie: in milk crates
  • All LPG components ie: Fixtures, Fittings, Regulators, Hoses and Piping to be in accordance with 527 CIwlR 6, AGA and lor Industry Standards, NFP A 58
  • At least one (1) 40:B6″fire extinguisher with each “cooking unit”

Permits and Certificates

  • PROPANE: Under 42# (2-20′s) No Permit Needed Comply with 527 CMR 6.08. (2) (e)
  • Over 42# Permit Needed At The Discretion of the Head of Fire Dept.
  • Any Cylinder over 30# must be connected and/or disconnected by a qualified person Comply with 527 CMR 6.05 (5) (limited gas fitters license/certificate)
  • FUEL STORAGE: ie: Diesel Fuel for Generator(s)/Temporary Power Comply with Boston Fire Prevention Code Section 16.03
  • CHARCOAL: No Permit Needed. Allowed on Public Streets or in Public Parks with Permission of the Fire Department
  • IF ALLOWED You Will Need: Ample supply of Sand, Water Extinguisher(s) 2 Y2 gal. Or Water Hose Metal barrel (for Disposal) Separated/Barricaded Area
  • NO “GASOLINE” is allowed at any Public Event
  • TENTAGE: Must have Boston Fire Department “Flame Certification” from BFD Chemist. Comply with Boston Fire Prevention Code Section 9.01 thru 9.04
  • Permit Needed for any Tent/Canopy over 20′ X 20′ (400 sq. ft.) Comply with Boston fire Prevention Code Section 31.01 thru 31.08
  • DUMPSTER: Permit needed for any trash receptacle over 3 cubic yards Comply with Boston Fire Prevention Code Section 29.02
