Bands
This year’s main stage will be headlined by Spiritual Rez, a Boston local band with coastal touring and festival experience. The band is currently engaged in a fifteen-city tour starting in Florida, hitting CultureFest in Pipestem, West Virginia and ending with their headlining performance on the Boston Common at The Freedom Rally. The six Berklee College of Music grads of Spiritual Rez have a Boston Music Award for Best World Music Act under their belt and can now tout themselves as a major festival headliner.
The Freedom Rally’s 2012 lineup is a diverse one, touching on many genres that the Boston music community has to offer. Rally attendees can plan on checking out Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll winners Moe Pope on the main stage and Grey Sky Appeal on the side stage. Atlantic coast and Northeast music festival favorites The Indobox will warm the main stage before Spiritual Rez. Cambridge indie-rock journeymen The Shills, who have been chiseling their craft behind Bryan Murphy’s ranging vocals, will headline the side stage. The full line up is:
