A commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Allen Ginsberg (4/5/1997). Allen was not only a world renown poet and author, but also was a leader of LEMAR (short for Legalize Marijuana) and led a famous protest in NYC in 1964.

6:00 – 7:45: Literary/Eco Bazaar. A get-together of local literary and environmental groups, book vendors, poets/writers, Beat scholars & enthusiasts, you. Collaborative art, networking, general creative hobnobbing, music, cash bar, complimentary hors d’oeuvres.

7:45 – 8:00: Heart Sutra chant, introduction & welcome

8:00: Part I

  • Ann Charters reads from “Best Minds: A Tribute to Allen Ginsberg”
  • Patrick Warner reads selections from Allen Ginsberg;
  • Accompanied by original music composed and performed by Steve Benson and Jordan Hoffman

8:45: Intermission

9:00: Part II

  • Gordon Ball reads from “East Hill Farm: Season with Allen Ginsberg”
  • Kevin Keady sings Allen Ginsberg songs
